a STUNNING VENUE ON THE NORFOLK COAST
I get to work at some simply stunning venues. And this is certainly the case when I return to capture wedding photography at Voewood. Jenny and Bhargev chose the perfect location to celebrate their wedding.
Grade II listed Voewood is a large country house on the North Norfolk Coast. It was built in 1903 in an Arts & Crafts design and features hand-painted walls and elegant furnishings.
With a combination of contemporary art, tribal pieces and retro furniture it’s a charismatic and unique setting for a wedding.
Jenny and Bhargev already had a full Indian wedding, so the blessing at Voewood was a way to celebrate closer to home and was, by their own admission, an excuse for a big party!
Guests arrived and enjoyed welcome drinks in a marquee in the gardens. The weather was sunny with some showers and luckily managed to stay dry at just the right times.
Jenny looked amazing in a vintage white lace dress in a modern Indian style, perfectly blending the two cultures. Bhargev rocked a blue suit with orange check, an orange tie and crisp white trainers. The blessing took place outside in Voewood’s gardens and was really personal as Jenny and Bhargev had handwritten their own vows.
Then everybody enjoyed a drinks reception in the gardens. And I took my chance to get some great photos of the wedding party and some candid images of guests mingling and enjoying themselves.
The wedding breakfast was held in one of Voewood’s large reception rooms with guests seated in long tables. There followed a delicious meal followed by some really fun and well received speeches.
Afterwards as guests happily milled about exploring Voewood’s many rooms. I took my chance to get a few portrait images of Jenny and Bhargev around the house. The favourite image being of them looking at one another and laughing in front of a David Bowie picture. Here, take a look!
Evening entertainment was in the form of a brilliant rock/skiffle band who are friends of the couple and who quickly filled the dancefloor. Jenny and Bhargev’s guests were really up for a party and I loved the dancefloor photos I got.
With the sunset and the dancefloor full it was time for me to take my leave. And the image of Jenny and Bhargev on the dancefloor, with all of their guests around them, felt like the perfect image to close the story of their day.
A laid-back wedding full of love and laughter at a simply stunning Norfolk wedding venue. Congratulations to Jenny and Bhargev. And thanks for having me there. I loved it!
