Fiona & Tom

A stunning Summer WEdding at the Norfolk Mead

I always love returning to capture wedding photography at The Norfolk Mead Hotel. Fiona and Tom chose the perfect venue for their summer wedding Norfolk.
I started the day at Fiona’s parents house where she was getting ready and got a couple of bridal preparation photos. I then headed to The Norfolk Mead hotel to catch up with Tom and his groom’s party.

The Norfolk Mead Hotel is a boutique hotel based in a beautiful Georgian country house. It sits on eight acres of lovingly kept private grounds in the heart of the Norfolk Broads. When I capture wedding photography at The Norfolk Mead Hotel, I especially love the gardens as they make the perfect backdrop for a romantic wedding day photoshoot.
On arrival, I found Tom looking relaxed with his groom’s party, enjoying some lawn games. They all looked very smart in grey three-piece suits with teal colour ties. I also took the chance to get some images of Fiona and Tom’s guests excitedly arriving.

The wedding ceremony was held in Norfolk Mead’s gorgeous Garden Room. Located in the beautiful walled garden, this modern glass structure seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor spaces creating the perfect setting for a wedding ceremony.
Guests were seated and Fiona arrived wearing the most stunning gold dress off the shoulder dress, it made such a refreshing change from the usual (as you can imagine, as a busy Norfolk wedding photographer, I’ve seen tons of wedding dresses) what I loved about Fiona’s was that it was totally her and she totally rocked it!
Fiona was walked down the aisle by her father and there followed a wonderfully personal ceremony that culminated in Fiona and Tom walked back down the aisle a married couple to cheers from their guests. Everybody then headed outside for a fun confetti moment which produced one of my favourite images of the day. Here, take a look!

After the meal there were some very well received speeches. In which, there were lots of jokes about the fact that Tom likes to stay indoors in his dressing gown. Theses jokes culminated in Tom being gifted a bright pink dressing gown, which he put on there and then!
As the weather was amazing, after the meal many guests headed back outside to chill out in the gardens and play lawn games that included some ambitious limbo-ing! There was a fun
photobooth with lots of props that proved to be popular with the youngest guests and the ‘not so young’ guests.
Evening celebrations started with the cutting of a delicious looking Victoria sponge cake from the dessert table. Followed by a romantic first dance for Fiona and Tom. Not that they were alone on the dancefloor for long. The 1920’s style band Trip for Biscuits played a host of modern songs in a traditional 1920’s jazz style. They were brilliant and I got some great images of guests singing and dancing along. Creative and Natural wedding photography in Norfolk With the formalities out of the way, it was time for me to head off and leave these guys to their party. A wonderfully laidback and fun wedding for a wonderfully laidback and fun couple. At a simply stunning Norfolk wedding venue.

Congratulations to Fiona and Tom for getting married and creating such an amazing day. I hope my images will allow you to relive it again and again for many years to come.  I’ll leave the last words to Fiona and Tom. Here’s what they had to say about me

“Matt took photos for us at our wedding in July 2022. He was absolutely great! He's super professional but also friendly and laid back which was exactly what we were after. In the run up to the day he had a big chat with us about his approach and asked us what sort of thing we were after, and was always happy to answer questions on email too. On the day he was so brilliant – he really made me and the groom feel relaxed the whole time, and took loads of photos of our friends and family having a great time, as well as things like the formal photos, ceremony and speeches, which was exactly what we wanted.
I normally feel really uncomfortable having my picture taken and hate how I look in them, but he made me feel really at ease and not awkward, even during the prep when I was having make up done. We really love the photos he took; they bring back so many great memories of the day. Can’t
recommend him highly enough! Thanks Matt.”
