Wedding Photography — Preston Priory Barn Suffolk
a timeless church and a stunning barn wedding venue
Preston Priory Barn is one of those venues that’s genuinely hard to beat. A medieval timber-framed barn on a working Suffolk farm, dating back to 1450 — it’s got history baked into every beam, and a warmth and character that no purpose-built venue could replicate. Exclusive use, up to 160 guests, and a courtyard that was made for drinks receptions on a summer’s afternoon. The big fig tree by the entrance, the cart lodge, the open fields beyond — it all adds up to something that feels completely its own.
Lucy and George started their day at St Andrew’s Church in Eaton — a beautiful, traditional ceremony surrounded by the people they love most. The church light was gorgeous, the emotion was real, and by the time they walked back down the aisle there wasn’t a dry eye in the building. Then it was on to Preston Priory Barn for the rest of the day.
Drinks in the courtyard, the kind of relaxed afternoon where people actually talk to each other and nobody’s watching the clock. Then into the barn for the wedding breakfast — and what a space it is. All that exposed timber, the warm light, the buzz of a room full of people who are genuinely happy to be there. The speeches were brilliant, the cake was cut, the dancefloor opened and didn’t stop.
We slipped outside during the golden hour for portraits — the Suffolk countryside around Preston Priory Barn is stunning in the evening light, and Lucy and George were completely natural in front of the camera. Relaxed, funny, completely themselves. Those are always my favourite portraits to make.
It’s the kind of wedding I love shooting. Two people who were just fully present all day, a venue with real soul, and a group of guests who were there to celebrate properly. If you’re planning your wedding at Preston Priory Barn and you want a photographer who’ll blend in, keep things easy, and deliver images you’ll genuinely love — I’d love to hear from you.
