Ellie & Zak

Elms Barn Wedding Photographer

Elms Barn is a romantic 17th century barn that is situated on the Norfolk and Suffolk border in the stunning gardens of a beautiful Queen Anne house.

On the day, I headed there early so I could catch up with Ellie and her bridal party who were getting ready in one of Elms Barn’s onsite cottages. The women were in high spirits and I got some great bridal preparation photos.

Ellie looked stunning in a figure skimming dress that gave her an amazing silhouette in all of my images. Her four bridesmaids looked elegant in navy dresses. Before heading to the ceremony, I got some great images of the bridal party.

Ellie and Zac chose an outdoor ceremony in Elms Barn’s stunning gardens. I headed to the garden and captured a few images of Zac and his grooms party, that included his father who had flown in from the US especially for the wedding. The grooms party all looked very smart in three-piece petrol blue suits and brown brogue shoes. Ellie was walked down the aisle by her dad and her step dad which was really sweet.

The wedding ceremony was idyllic, Elms Barn’s stunning gardens made a beautiful backdrop. There was full sunshine and a gentle breeze that gave my images a little extra movement. The registrar was really lovely and fun and created a fantastic vibe.

After the ceremony, everybody enjoyed a drinks reception in the sunshine and I took my chance to get a few images of the wedding party as well as a couple of romantic portrait photos of Ellie and Zac.

The wedding breakfast was held in Elms Barn and it looked so beautiful. The traditionally built barn has a high vaulted ceiling, solid oak beams adorned with fairy lights and warm brick walls. Tables were dressed exquisitely with crisp white linen, pretty floral arrangements and candelabras.

After the meal, many guests meandered back outside to enjoy the sunshine. I love this time of day at weddings. With the formalities out of the way guests just relax and enjoy exclusive use. It’s a great time of day to get candid images of guests which really suits my documentary style of wedding photography. It was lovely to see the youngest guests getting to let off some steam on the lawns and there was a fun bouquet throwing moment which I captured perfectly.

Evening celebrations started with a romantic first dance for Ellie and Zac. Though it wasn’t long before they were joined on the dancefloor as their friends and family were definitely up for a party.

As the sun began to set on this long summers’ day, I quickly whisked Ellie and Zac away for a few minutes for a romantic sunset photoshoot. We enjoyed a taking stroll and I took my favourite image of the day. It was of Ellie and Zac in the cornfield with the sun setting behind them. It was the perfect image to close the story of their wedding day.

A gorgeous summer wedding in Suffolk for a lovely couple. Congratulations to Ellie and Zac for getting married and creating such an amazing day for yourselves. I hope my images will enable you to relive it again and again for many years to come.
