The Boathouse Wedding Photographer
A stunning wedding on the Norfolk Broads
“The Boathouse is one of those Norfolk venues that genuinely surprises you. Situated right on the Norfolk Broads near Wroxham, it has a unique flexibility that most venues can’t match — the ceremony barn opens up fully to the waterside, so even when the weather misbehaves (this is England, after all), you still get that incredible outdoor feel. The grounds have some gorgeous spots for portraits, too, with the Broads as a backdrop. If you’re getting married at The Boathouse and looking for a Norwich or Norfolk wedding photographer who loves this kind of light and setting, I’d love to be part of your day — take a look at my wedding packages or get in touch.
Team Amber spent the morning at the BoatHouse getting ready and adding final touches. Spirits were high as they prepared for the big day ahead! Throughout the morning, guests trickled in and out (as they often do), adding to the vibe of the morning.
A Wedding on the Norfolk Broads
When it was time for the main event, everyone was buzzing with anticipation. Sure, we were crossing our fingers for better weather (this is the UK after all), but no problem – the amazing BoatHouse team suggested moving the ceremony indoors just in time for a little rain shower. But hey, with those huge doors opening up to the stunning Norfolk Broads, the view is still stunning, rain or shine. Plus, being under cover gave the whole vibe a chill, open-air feel. Honestly, the best of both worlds!
With the “official” stuff was done, it was time to head out side for confetti and group photos outside. Always one of the highlights of the day!
Despite the unpredictable weather, the sun decided to make some cameo appearances, giving us the perfect window for some couples’ photos around the venue. The Boat House does have some amazing spots on its grounds with some lovely trees and green grassy backdrops. Perfect for Wedding Photography!
As the day turned into night, it was all about welcoming the evening guests, cutting the cake, and hitting the dance floor. As is always the way, the kids were the first to hit the dancefloor, but the adults weren’t far behind. But the real highlight? Both couples pulling shapes to S-Club! a dancefloor classic!
In the end, Freddie and Amber’s wedding was nothing short of amazing. With tons of laughter, excitement, and killer dance moves! And let’s not forget to give a shoutout to the BoatHouse for being the perfect backdrop for our unforgettable day. Cheers to love, laughter, and happily ever afters!
A little review! – Amber and Freddie were kind enough to leave me a review:
We could honestly not recommend Matt enough! A true professional from start to finish; going above and beyond to get the perfect shot, from staying late to get the perfect evening pics, to quickly cleaning up duck poo from a boardwalk! He was also incredibly discrete, we didn’t notice he was actually there at all during the ceremony, speeches or while we were dancing, and yet he managed to take the most beautiful pictures of these moments.
All of the pictures he captured were incredible- viewing our online gallery for the first time was such a joy, it was lovely to reminisce about our perfect day, reflected in our amazing pictures . If you’re looking for a friendly, relaxed and professional wedding photographer, you need Matt!
Thanks so much again, Amber & Freddie.
The Boathouse is one of those venues that just works, whatever the weather throws at it — and Amber and Freddie’s day is proof of that. If you’re getting married on the Norfolk Broads and looking for a photographer who’ll stay late, dodge the duck poo, and capture every moment, get in touch — I’d love to hear about your day.
