Bateman’s Barn Wedding Photographer
Before their wedding at Bateman’s Barn, we had an Engagment shoot (more info here) on the Norfolk coast. Within seconds of meeting them both, I knew not only where they were going to be amazing fun, but their wedding wasnt going to be anything less than AMAZING!
Morning Prep
Such a lovely space for photos – Arriving around 3 hours before the ceremoney I was welcomed with smiles, laughter and some lovely food! Antonia and the girls were all in their element, but things were running a little behind schedule. Try as you might sometmes weddings just do that. But none of this worries anyone! and Ive photogaphed enough weddings to know its usualy works itself out, and this morning it absolutely did! Everyone got to the ceremony on time.
Arriving at Batemans Barn
Once prep was done I was back in the car to get to Batemans Barn – having never shot a wedding there, I was in for a bit of a treat….It’s amazing. And Nicole (the lovely lady who runs the place) is equally amazing (thanks again Nicole for making everyones day 10/10!)
Upon arriving, everything and everyone was in full wedding mode – Ollie was busy welcoming people and the wedding guests were doing what the wedding guests do! The perfect time to grab loads of candid photos before the main event! speaking of which…..
The ceremony...AKA, THE MAIN EVENT!
If youre having an outdoor wedding, hope you have one as amazing as this one. Apart from a little wind, this is about as perfect as you could hope for. A wedding ceremony under the two stunning trees is simply perfect, and the sun was ramped up to 11! The ideal summer wedding!
With Ollie waiting, Antonia finally made her grand entrance. You couldnt ask for anything more perfect. I think her dad was especially proud.
Chinese Tea Ceremony
This was a new experience for me!
After the ceremoney Antonial and Oliie made a quick getaway to get changed, and the ceremony began. Im not going to pretend to know the history of the tea ceremoney but it was so much fun to photograph. Everyone gets involved, everyone’s laughing – you get a few speeches, a few applause and lots of tea!

We out of the sun for the speeches, not complaining, it was a hot day!
First Dance and the conga to end all gongas!
Back in the barn for the first dance! Anonia & Ollie had this all planned out! 1st we get the first dance, which ticked all the first dance boxes – then…..CONGA! Led by Ollie and picking people up as they go, everyone got involved…So much so I even lost a shoe! But we won’t let that get in the way of capturing as many photos as I can.
As the evening moved on and the sun started to set, I was able to get a few more dance floor photos before calling it a night. It had been a long, hot day, but one I totaly loved!
